'Though it was tough going through all the modules, I particularly enjoyed my study school where the Sheffield Hallam lecturers came to town,’ said Roger.

Esther, 26, is a children’s fencing coach, and is also expecting the MSc to help her progress in her career.

‘The course has been enjoyable and my company is expanding so there are now more opportunities for me when it comes to management.’

William Tan Soon Seng, who is Chief Instructor at Singapore’s School of Physical Training, said he was delighted to be in Sheffield attending his graduation.

‘It is a once in a lifetime experience,’ he added.
